Local musicians, Circa 2007 song titled The Earth Opens Up?

I can't remember the band, but I owned their cd many years ago. I know the song was called The Earth Opens Up. The lyrics I remember are "There was a rock in the way, I tripped and I told you that I didn't want to keep going. You said 'No one wants you to stay' and I thanked you for knowing.

It's been stuck in my head, randomly for over a decade and I really wish I could hear it again. Sound familiar?
