Local HVAC co. acquires North Carolina-based electric contractor

Houston-based HVAC company Comfort Systems USA Inc. (NYSE: FIX) announced Monday that it plans to acquire Greensboro-based Starr Electric Co. Inc.

Starr Electric is one of the largest electric contractors in the Triad and has 125 Triad employees. The company was founded in 1928 and has offices in North Carolina and South Carolina. Starr has had a partnership with Comfort Systems USA subsidiary Environmental Air Systems.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
