Local help needed!

Hoping a local can help out! I’m currently being harassed/stalked/threatened by an ex who lives in Houston (I live in another state). Does anyone have any information about how to get a restraining order and whether or not it’s an easy thing to do? I’ve tried to proceed via phone for years to no avail, my next step is physically coming to town to go to the police in person. Does anyone have any tips or info to share? Thanks!
