Local Coffee Shop Bean Recommendation (Espresso)

Hey All,

Looking to buy a friend a bag of coffee beans for Christmas since they just bought a new espresso machine.

I've heard of Luce, Boomtown, Catalina so far. Any specific bean recommendations for espresso, medium roast, from a local shop would be appreciated.
