Living Recommendations in Houston Area

I will be working in Baytown next year and am looking for a place to live that isn’t too far from Baytown or Houston. Living in the city would be nice, but a ~45 minute commute every day doesn’t sound appealing. I am considering living directly in Baytown, but want to be in an area that is close to a that and the City.

I’ve looked into places like Deer Park and La Porte, and I want to see if there are any hidden gems that I’ve missed so far. (I am a new college graduate who would also prefer a generally safe/clean area). Any suggestions would help!
