Light at the end of the tunnel
Full disclosure I’m a doomer, I have been completely unimpressed by our team this year which is nuts considering we are 8-5. I want to be optimistic but heading into this week I couldn’t shake the feeling we’d be in a nail biter with one of the worst teams in the league.
It’s been so frustrating to watch our coaching, players, discipline, and everything regress from last year. And while we’ve seen rough seasons and some interesting names throw the ball in this uniform (T.J Yates, Tom Savage, Brock O, Brian Hoyer, and the one who shall not be named). There has not been a more frustrating season in recent memory than this.
But even as a doomer, I do believe there is a very bright light at the end of the tunnel.
Considering all the bullshit we’ve endured and losses against some terrible teams. Being 8-5 the way we’ve been playing, winning against the Bills, and should have been wins against the Lions and Packers is unfucking believable.
And I can’t remember the last time being more excited our defense is on the field and knowing they will make a huge play in important moments since the JJ and Cushing days.
CJ is still an incredible quarterback turning Nico into a top 5 and growing alongside Tank. Will, Pitre, and Stingley are blossoming into some of the best players defense players in the NFL. And while he’s got a lot of things to learn I think Demeco is the right guy to be leading us.
I’ve chalked this season to be a learning year, one we can hopefully grow from. And while my blood pressure and vocal cords will still be shot each week watching this team. I’m extremely excited for what the future holds for us as one of the youngest and most talented teams in the NFL.
