License renewal

I need to renew my license before December in person. Not eligible for online renewal.

For the last two weeks when I’ve tried to make an appointment at the mega Center the website has been down.

Someone told me that I have to get my drivers license and the county I live in. That’s not true correct??

Wondering if I can drive out to Waller / Huntsville get in/out same day no appt. I live in Harris County.
