Lenient auto inspection places?

My car is pretty old, im a college student and im in my last year. I already spent too much money to try to fix this car and im planning on getting a brand new one some time end of 2025. I want this car to last me a couple more months and it needs to be registered, currently got a check engine light on that never goes away. Any shop recommendations would help a lot. Thankyou!
