Leaking in my apartment and no emergency maintenance number
Hello! I've been googling and have had trouble finding any definitive information.
My floorboards/baseboards (!) are currently leaking. My apartment's emergency maintenance line is supposed to be accessible by calling the front office, then you can leave a voicemail or it will reroute you to the maintenance line, but the call keeps hanging up without even allowing me to leave a voicemail. I've called, emailed, and put in an online maintenance request, but it's Saturday and I haven't gotten any response.
I have used all the towels I own, and am now having to mop up water as it leaks out. I can't keep sitting here all day, but I don't want my entire apartment to flood. This has been an ongoing issue that I informed my apartment of on 10/13. This is the 5th time there has been leaking, but this is the longest it's gone on. Most of the time, I've come home from work to find water in my bathroom, kitchen, and living room. I was told that maintenance came by while I was at work yesterday and that "everything was fine".
I can't get ahold of anyone and I can't find good information on if I can call the city, etc. or if the apartment will be required to reimburse me if I pay someone to come out. Any advice?
