Laptop got stolen, any idea where thieves may sell them to?

My colleague and I went out for lunch today and left our apple devices in the office, when we got back and found out our laptops were stolen, unfortunately, there is no security camera in the hallway nor inside the office. My mac's Find My was off for some reason and his Find My is on but unable to play sound or track the location. We've both filed police reports and wondering what the thief or thieves would do with them.
