Kool-Aid: The Offense
there's a lot to feel good about as a fan right now and you know what, we deserve it. look at how dramatically the culture and narrative surrounding the Texans has changed recently.
just look at us:
An elite frachise quarterback, far better than Watson at literally everything.. …quick becoming Americas sweethearts. The media respects us, opposing teams fear us. I mean just look at our offense.. This is easily the most exciting offense in Texans(nfl) history especially with the addition of Diggs and I'll tell you why.
Nico , Tank Dell, Hutchinson, Metchie …we have an amazing, young WR core with crazy ceilings and Diggs helps tap into our true offensive potential. my head canon/hope is that Diggs will help elevate our young core to new heights with mentorship and playoff experience. He can draw defenders off Nico and Tank, or vice-versa..SOMEONE is getting open you can bet CJ will hit them in stride. With such a versatile and talented group of WR, we can swap guys out often with confidence, allowing our guys to stay fresh throughout the game..which could theoretically lower our injury rate as well.
Also… How do you stop CJ Stroud when Tank Dell, Diggs, Nico Collins, Joe Mix on and Shultz are simultaneously running routes?
Let's not forget Metchie , who, imo, has yet to be tapped potential after recovering from cancer, he had some good looks last season and was basically a rookie.
He was a 2nd rounder and an absolute menace at alabama. If not for the incredible depth the texans have at wide receiver I would say this could be his breakout year. I think he becomes another major problem for defenses but with limited targets (we will see if he can win WR4) I dont think he gets over 500 yards and 5 touchdowns.
If Noah Brown returns to pre injury form, thats a whole other problem ! Dude was a playmaking machine for us last season.
With Dell healthy, just the combination of him and Brown, Nico, and Shultz was to much for most NFL defenses to handle last season. Add Diggs to the mix and I mean, seriously…how do you stop CJ from just having his way out there ?
Dell was arguably the best rookie WR before getting injured. He had 700 yards and 7 touchdowns in like 10 games and was only getting better.
With him back at 100 percent the texans have 3 potential WR1, each excelling at the position in different ways. theoretically giving the Texans a highly capable and versatile offense that should be able to score on anybody any given time at any given yardage on any given sunday.
The Texans have never been this good. Even the years we were considered “good“ true Texans fans know the closet we ever had to a super bowl roster (not saying we were close) was when we went up 24-0 on the would-be champs only to choke, implode, and self-destruct…but out of the ashes of that dumpster fire, the modern texans have risen!!
I genuinely believed after BoB the destroyer of worlds was through with the Texans, we had no choice but to suck for a minimum of five years. I actually had no hope. To go from worst in the league to possible contender in a couple seasons is surreal.
This team feels so special compared to any in Texans history. I haven't even gotten to the defense yet which should improve as well (potentially dramatically).
The Texans are truly becoming Americas team after the bounce back from the Deshaun Watson debacle and it seems like everyone likes the texans now.
its cool to finally be in the spotlight and feel respected as a franchise. Huge kudos to the owners for bringing in the right people at the right time, Caserio has been an absolute wizard at GM. such a massive shift of culture in such a short amount of time is unprecedented.
