KLM Airline Carryon

For anyone who has recently flown on KLM airline out of IAH to AMS, did they weigh your carryon and hand baggage either at check-in or at the gate? With all the baggage nightmares lately, I’m trying to avoid checking a bag and am curious how strict they are about the 12 kg combined max for economy. Thanks in advance!
