Kids playing on the neighborhood street
I don't know the law well enough and searching this on google has been quite a challenge. Maybe someone here is more knowledgeable on the situation.
There's a lady (I'll call her Karen) on this street that keeps calling the cops on kids playing on our neighborhood street. This is a quiet street and the kids know enough to move out of the way when a car approaches. The cops are siding with Karen and says that kids should be arm's distances from the adults. lol, this is obviously bs but there's nothing I can really do or say. Karen has been driving up and down the street with her phone (possibility recording, I imagine gathering evidence). She's also threaten to call CPS on the parents as well. The irony in all of this is her kid at one point were at the same age and probably doing the same thing.
I found this website, https://letgrow.org/texas-becomes-third-state-to-enshrine-reasonable-childhood-independence-into-law/#:~:text=Kids%20don't%20have%20to,without%20being%20accused%20of%20neglect. Along with House bill 567 that says basically it's ok for kids to play on the street.

I live in Richmond so the laws may be different than Houston, but I doubt that very much."
