KC hater or Legit? Fall of the Texans

Currently having a conversation with my husband about my son being a closeted Chiefs fan. We are from Houston but live in Kansas City right now and my husband is a die hard Texans fan. I think my son is embarrassed to say he likes the chiefs because my husband HATES the Chiefs. He says the fall of the Texans began in 2019 playoff game against the Chiefs. He says he has a legit reason to hate the Chiefs and isn't just being a hater. Thoughts?
