Katy ISD’s FY 2024-25 budget faces $26.7M general fund shortfall

The proposed shortfall—$22 million of which is due to staff raises—will be covered by the district’s reserve fund balance, but staff may also need to amend the budget throughout the year to lessen the impact, Chief Financial Officer Christopher Smith said.
