Katy ISD and address verification

Hi there. My boyfriend’s daughter (in third grade) is currently enrolled at a Katy ISD elementary school that she’s no longer zoned to since we moved inside the beltway. Her mother is zoned to a less desirable part of the district (from what I understand), but she is not planning on moving her to the school she is zoned to next year.

Does Katy ISD not verify addresses or require proof of residency each year?

I get that people skirt the rules but I feel very conflicted about this. All input welcome, TIA.
