Kata Robata Chocolate Bread Pudding

Kata Robata Chocolate Bread Pudding

I am a huge fan of Kata Robata and Chef Hori (I sincerely believe his Spicy Soy Ramen is the best ramen I have had anywhere in US or Japan, Kata also offers Houston’s best deal on perfectly prepared wagyu beef and serves the freshest nigiri) but the desserts have never blown me away to the point that I have not even looked at the dessert menu in a long time. But on a recent visit with my son, he wanted to get something there instead of going to House of Pies or Milk + Sugar on way to our respective homes. The chocolate bread pudding was something I had not seen on the menu prior to this visit. It was served in a cast iron skillet and was the deliciously indecent product of the union of a perfectly undercooked brownie, a BJ’s Pizookie and classic bread pudding. It is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting on top of it but went far better with the red bean ice cream served at the center of the green tea shaved ice we also ordered (which was also very, very good).
