Just moved here, any scenic drives near Houston?

Hey everyone, long story short I moved here 3 weeks ago for work and it turned out to be a bad move and an absolute nightmare. But I’m trying to make the most of it before I head back home to the west coast in a week and I’d really love to explore what this side of Texas has to offer. I’m sure things are limited with covid so I figured why not take in the beauty of Texas with some nice road trips on this side of the state. I love small towns, long scenic roads, and natural beauty. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. What highways are nice to drive through? What nature parks should I visit? What are some charming small towns I need to see? I don’t mind driving too far but I’d like to keep it within a 4 hour radius. And any other recommendations that I must do in the Houston area are welcomed too. I’ve been working almost nonstop for the last 3 weeks and now I’ve got 5 days to explore and do whatever I want. So what should I do?
