Joining city council
Hello all! I am looking to join one of the city boards in my field I.e healthcare, finance and/or women’s affairs. I am relatively new to Houston, but was pretty involved in my previous city.
I have submitted my application (+ resume) on Houstontx.gov and wanted to know if anyone had any idea of what happens next. Looks like appointments are by the Mayor. How competitive are these? Do you recommend any networking to make myself more visible? Do I get any kind of notification if I’m not chosen to proceed?
