Job Market for Teaching in Houston

I'm interested in teaching 2nd and 3rd grade English in Houston. I currently hold a B.A. in English but do not have teaching certification yet. Could anyone provide insights on the job market for elementary school teachers in this area? Additionally, what are the chances of securing a teaching position without certification, and what steps would you recommend for becoming certified?
