‘I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.’ Grocers cut hours, hiring employees to keep up with demand
Mayor Sylvester Turner and local leaders from Houston’s biggest grocery store chains held a press conference Monday, March 16, to address concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.
First and foremost, grocery stores will not be shutting down. Moreover, Turner urged Houstonians to be “sensitive to the needs of others” as customers deplete store shelves across the city.
