It’s been about a year and my spouse can’t find a new oil & gas job, not even interviews
I know it's not a great market, especially on the upstream/exploration side, but my spouse has a pretty impressive O&G resume and has been looking for about a year, but he's barely even gotten any call-backs. He has technical (geophysics) experience, but is now more on the business side and looking to stay there. He has Ivy League science degrees, a PhD, and is now working in O&G consulting at a small firm. He's worked at MBB consulting firms, and at an O&G supermajor but mostly overseas.
He's not a US citizen, but has a green card so sponsorship isn't an issue. He's been applying on LinkedIn and Indeed.
Not sure what's going on- how the heck does one find jobs in the O&G industry nowadays if you aren't a campus hire?? Is there like a secret way?
ETA: I didn't make this clear enough, but fortunately, he still does have a job and is working! Just looking to move, he is criminally underpaid/overworked/sick of the work, and is looking to only check 1-2 of those 3 boxes lol, not all 3.
