It’s about to get a lot easier to cancel your Chronicle subscription

It's about to get easier to cancel subscriptions to everything I think. In 2024 Biden's FTC under Lina Khan proposed the "Negative Option Rule" to take effect May 14, 2025. Also called "click to cancel", it makes it as easy cancel subscriptions as to make them. I had heard the trump administration killed it, but it looks like they just delayed enforcement, it takes effect July 14.

"About the FTC “Click to Cancel” Rule

The final rule requires companies to make it as easy as it is for consumers to cancel their enrollment in subscription programs as it was to sign up. This applies to “negative option” marketing, which includes automatic renewals, continuity plans, free-to-pay conversions, and prenotification plans."
