It feels like this season has been a case of musical chairs between the SP, BP, and Offense in terms of performance.
Don't really have the numbers to truly back it up though.
But this season it's been a case of 2 of the above 3 doing excellent while the other being awful.
-
Early season the SP and Pen were excellent as usual with a subpar offense which survived due to Yordan being nuclear with RISP.
-
As the season went along and as we got healthy/better lineups, our offense around, when Altuve and Chas got back (and Chas getting actual playing time again), the Offense predictably picked up. But then bullpen fell apart aside from Pressley during June/July due to just dip in production/fatigue.
-
Now post ASB, our offense is scorching, bullpen is dominating again. But our SP consistently has been struggling a bit to give us quality outings.
If there were ever a time for all of them to click, it would be during the next 3 series vs Yankees/Padres/Rangers.
A team like us will probably need to win the division because if we don't. Say we win the WC round easily, we use up at minimum Verlander/Framber. And then start the next series with 2 of Javier/France/Brown/Urquidy. Not ideal
