Is there any area to live in Houston where you have local bars, restaurants, cafes, some retail and groceries within a nice walking distance like 10-15 mins?
Hey all
Thinking of moving to Houston, but I know it's a very car dependent city, but I've heard there are maybe more walkable areas, though I think Houston walkable isn't the same as like, if you'll pardon the comparison, NYC walkable.
Not expecting that level, but are there neighbourhoods where your daily necessities and some fun are in a reasonable walking distance, maybe with some streetcar involved?
I understand I'll want a car anyway to get the most out of the city.
Midtown? Montrose? Somewhere near downtown?
Should also say, somewhere nice ish and safe and doesn't flood
Any areas which are lively with residents and some density and not a suburbs and strip mall kinda life?
If not in Houston, do any other Texas cities fit the bill
Thank you
