Is there a genuine change in Houston vibe and feel when the energy industry is in turmoil?

So I’ve been here for past 2ish years when the energy industry has more or less done well.

For long time houstonians, do you see a particular shift in the feel of the city of houston and the economic activity / hustle and bustle here when the oil and gas industry is going through the ringer?

I guess 2014-15 and 2008-09 were last times where there were extended oil price slumps so could you see effects of it in daily houston life? (Covid was one off and not just the industry so I’ll take that out).

I guess my question is how intertwined are the proespects and good vibes of houston to the state of the energy industry?
