Is Jose Abreau Scared of the Dark?
We’re all familiar with our hot and cold usually cold First Baseman Josè Abreu. In my search for some sort of hopeful stat about our former MVP I noticed something odd that only pertains to this season.
Day Games: 43 AB/9 H/2 2B/1 HR/4 RBI/4 BB/8 SO
In Bagwellian that’s good for a .209/.277/.326 and for you advanced Bagwellians that leaves Abreu with a .603 OPS in day games. Not very good for a former star, but the terror truly begins after dark.
Night Games:63AB/5 H/0 2B/1 HR/3 RBI/0 BB/19 SO
Jeff isn’t going to like this primetime edition slashline of .079/.106/.127. You don’t need too much arithmetic to get to a .233 OPS for Abreu After Dark.
I’m not sure what sort of supernatural baseball voodoo has been placed on Abreu this year, but as of now he’s sort of the foil to Howie in our Astros rendition of The Benchwarmers.
