Is it normal to see there roaches in a week?

Sorry this is long! But I desperately need help! I (23 Female) moved to Houston, TX almost a month ago. I didn’t stay the night in my apartment the first 3 nights because I didn’t have furniture. After the first night in my new apartment I started seeing bugs. Daily, I would see 3-5 bugs. These bugs ranged from millipedes, spiders, Rollie pollies, ants, and even worms (not sure if they were larvae). Before I spent the night there, I had already sprayed along the base boards, windows, and doors, but after seeing bugs daily, I sprayed more and more. I found myself spraying almost daily! I said something to the leasing office after a week and they had pest control come. Pest control came the next week (they only come on Wednesdays and I said something on a Friday). The bugs slowed down a bit. I went from seeing them daily to maybe 3 days out the week, 3-5 bugs a day. They followed up with their visit the next week and sprayed again. The next two days I saw bugs, but on the third day I saw a roach! Obviously freaked out, I contacted the leasing office the next day. They said pest control would come again and treat the whole building (there are about 6 units per building). Luckily, I was going on a 5 day vacation the next day.

I come back from vacation and I am greater with a note saying that pest control could not enter my apartment even though maintain a had been there the same day, and a dead roach in my shower which was bigger than the first one. 2 roaches in less than a week! I then emailed corporate. This resulted in pest control coming back and doing what they were supposed to and a home call from corporate. I was told roaches are normal to Houston, and while I would not be roach or bug free, it would get better now that they treated the whole building. She also emphasized that they have gone above and beyond with helping this situation by treating the whole building which she indicated is very expansive. I indicated to her and via email that I was thinking about breaking my lease or moving apartments, which she explained to me that I may face the same issue and all apartments in Houston have bugs, and roaches.

That was yesterday. I did see two bugs before pest control came, but none after. I saw no bugs earlier today, but after coming back in a room 30 min later, I saw another roach! This one was bigger than the rest and was about the size of my whole thumb! It was on its back so I thought maybe it was dying so I sprayed it with some bug spray. It started turning over to retreat so I began making a puddle out of the bug spray which stopped it luckily.

I say all this to say is this normal? I am from Ohio and have never seen a roach let alone these huge ones. Should I wait it out? What should I do?
