Is it just me or does HISD end school very late?

Always thought it was normal to end school at 3 and 4…but other districts end at 2:30. Students there look shocked when I tell them we ended school at 4. Is there a reason why HISD ends so late compared to other districts? One reason I can think of is due to parent work schedules but I’d like to know others
