Is it difficult to get into the cook off?

Lived here 10 years and my wife and I have yet to go to the Rodeo. Someone mentioned a cook off to me the other day and it sounded like a fun party, but then they said you have to be invited.

Just wondering if that’s actually the case, or if it’s worth heading down sometime this week or next weekend. I’m honestly not even sure what days it happens, but I’m sure I can figure that out with some googling.
