Is houston community college a good choice for CS students to transfer?

I’m an international student. I plan to go to the US for the first time in Spring 2024. After 2.5 years, I will ransfer to a 4-year university in Texas.

I chose the HCC Alief Hayes Campus because there has many affordable apartments nearby. But I’ve heard that there are some dangerous areas in Houston, is the area around this campus one of them?

lastly, is there a website or platform where I can find reviews and difficulty level of each course?
