Is Houston actually (relatively) cheap to live in?

I’m from the metro Detroit area but have a job opportunity in Houston. I haven’t done much research yet but so far it seems like the cost of living in Houston seems to be relatively cheap? Do you find this to be true?

For reference I’m 26, single no kids, but care about prioritizing my finances. Expected salary is roughly 60k.

*for clarification my question is not if 60k is enough to get by. Just wondering if you find Houston to be more affordable than other areas you’ve been.
