Is Houston a good place to live?

So I (27F) might have a job offer in Houston. I would be leaving central Ohio. I'm from Texas, but have not been back in years (other than getting stuck on layover 999 times in DFW, which doesn't count lol).

How is the city? Do you like it there? My hobbies include pole dance, hiking, painting, and trying fun new foods. I lean a bit more liberal, but I spend most of my work day blending in with a bunch of pro-Donny T conservative blue collar boys.

My only major concerns are my safety as a woman and on a less serious note, the ever present threat of fire ants lol.
