Is a permit required for a sun shade sail over driveway in Houston?

I looked through the building codes and I guess these sun shade covers aren't popular enough and haven't been included in the code book. Its technically not a permanent structure since its just a removable cloth cover but I dont know what the city will think of it. I want to put an 8×8 just to add some extra shade over my car during the hottest part of the day.
