Is a 30-minute commute good for Houston?

Hey everyone.

I am a 19-year-old college student who works as an accounts payable specialist (a stepping stone to becoming an accountant). I had an amazing interview today for a role around Memorial/Energy Corridor, which is anywhere from 20 minutes to 35 minutes from my residence in Mission Bend, depending on traffic. I am unusually enthusiastic about this. My previous roles before this were 1h 5m & 45m commutes as an 18-year-old. Is this normal for work life?

I'd be giving up a few things to work full-time again, just run-of-the-mill stuff that I'm willing to sacrifice to get ahead in my career, and any commute before and after doesn't make it any easier. However, I just wanted to ask everyone if a 30-minute commute is actually that bad for a Houston worker at all? I hear horror stories about 1hr+ commutes back and forth on here a bunch. If pay matters in this case, annual comes out to around 50k. Thanks y'all.

EDIT: I appreciate all of you and your opinions so much. I never realized how good a 30-minute commute was until now lol. Wish all of you the best as we are *finally* leaving the summer heat.

2nd EDIT: Just to clear up. The role is 11 miles away. It's 20-24 minutes without traffic and 30-34 minutes during rush hour. Hopefully, that clears stuff up!
