TL;DR – This is an attempt to fill a content niche by capturing moments not currently showcased.

Over the past few years, I’ve captured GIFs of the Atlanta Braves. There are so many small moments during the games that are worth highlighting, many that would never see the light of day if someone outside of MLB didn’t take the time to do so. As I became more involved with the community on r/baseball, I started to watch more non-Braves games. It didn’t take long to realize that every team has these hidden gems that should be captured and enjoyed by all baseball fans.

I started to wonder how I could capture all this content by myself and the answer is, I can’t. So, I began devising a plan to create a network of Reddit baseball fans who can help me accomplish the goal of capturing one or two GIFs from each game by keeping an eye out for this sort of content when watching games. In return, these contributors gain access to all available content to do with what they like.

In addition to contributors, we’ll eventually need more GIF capturers (clippers). If you have a PC, I can provide step-by-step instructions on how to capture content from games. If you already do a similar thing for your team, please contact me via PM or on our Discord.

Here’s the kind of stuff we’re interested in…

GIFs

• Clips should be 5 seconds or less with some occasional exceptions.

• Funny or interesting events not typically featured on highlight reels

• Exceptional bat flips, ludicrous errors, and defensive gems

• Anything that would make a great reaction GIF

• Wholesome fan interactions

Videos

• Clips not usually showcased by MLB

• Benches clearing or game drama

• Bad calls by the umpires

• Mistakes by commentators
