Interior & Exterior In The House, Houston. Structural Engineer Needed?
| |
I bought my house new build in 2020. The house started to have some cracks inside and outside all over the places. Inside cracks all over the place include ceiling, wall, and near window corners. Outside cracks near window causing Hardie board to pop open. I also observe the window shift about 1/2 of a in. The only warranty I have left is 10 years structural warranty. I spoke to the warranty company, they advised if I want to open a claim, I must pay $250 for initial fees non-refundable. Then they’ll send an inspector out for an evaluation. Question: should I wait for their inspector comes out for an evaluation to see what will happen or just get a structural engineer on my end in addition to their evaluation? I looked up, structural engineer in Houston is kinda expensive. submitted by /u/Zdosse935 |
