Insights about MacGregor Elementary

Hi Houston people. My kid is starting first grade at MacGregor Elementary this upcoming school year. Any insights in the school, expectations, advice? Should I keep my keep there?

We also have St Mary's school as another choice, though paid.

We are new in the city so don't know much.
