Info on Hempstead?

Hi all,

I live in Cincinnati, and while I live a little outside of the city limits (20ish minutes) I am still able to get into downtown Cincinnati really quickly and consider myself in the Cincinnati metro area.

Could the same be said for Hempstead? Is that still considered Houston metro? Is it rural, suburban?

Any info helps
