In the area for a show at White Oak next month – wondering what area to stay in.

Hey everyone! Myself and a group of friends will be staying in Houston for a weekend in November for a show at White Oak Music Hall. I’m not native to Houston, or Texas but I got the tickets to the show as a reason to check out a new city. I’ve tried getting an idea of the area (geographically) using google and plotting routes to/from multiple places but obviously that only gets you so far, and there’s more to consider than proximity to a show I’ll be at for one night. I’d prefer to support someone local’s Airbnb but am also open to hotels of course. Also, any suggestions for places to check out to eat/drink/hang out would be cool. I’m a (native, not implanted) New Yorker, just looking to experience a new place for a couple of days. Thanks I’m advance all.
