In response to Watson’s greatness..
Had an interesting thought. As we stared down another unbelievable loss in the first round of the playoffs in January 2020, Watson decided to put the team on his back an engineer a postseason victory for the ages. I was at that game: it was pure magic. However, wrapped up in the collective fervor of the win was a willful ignorance of the fact that the Texans almost lost a second consecutive game at home on wild card weekend in embarrassing fashion. If the Texans lost, O'Brien is fired the next day. If that happens, Texans clean house and: 1) we hire rheul and a legit gm; 2) we don't trade away hop (or at least not for what we got in return; 2) if we trade for cooks its not for a second rounder; 3) fuller would've gotten a team friendly contract extension; 4) mercilus prob gets traded or offered a lower cost extension; and most importantly 5) easterby is (likely) gone. all that to say that Watson's greatness screwed us again!!! Just kidding but it did allow O'Brien and easterby to screw the organization royally. Just a thought or fever dream. Hope everyone has a safe holiday. And I really hope we don't lose to the bengals…..
