Imperial Sugar Mill
The Imperial Sugar Mill, established in 1883, was a significant development in Sugar Land’s history. Built by partners Ellis and Cunningham, it marked the transition from raw sugar to refined, granulated sugar production. This expansion led to the emergence of a new town under Cunningham’s ownership, but financial troubles and natural disasters eventually shifted the course of Sugar Land’s history.
