I’m still mad about the balk call
I’ve come to terms that under a very strict interpretation that Stanek technically balked but given the situation it shouldn’t have been called that because there was no intention to fool the base runners (he hadn’t even set yet). SO that being the case I’ve been watching pitchers this game and if we follow the logic that twitching or start/stop or uncertain movement before the pitcher is set, literally every pitcher tonight has “balked.”On both teams. THAT is why it was such a bad call. It was a completely normal movement that doesn’t look out of place at all during play. I wish I could find clips but I saw top of the 11th the pitcher does almost the exact same thing as Stanek.
Also I really don’t like that some dodgers player said he brought it to the attention of the ump. I don’t think that’s the case but it was a weird thing to say. Like eager to take advantage of a system that affects the Dodgers too.
