I’m a bit torn. Should the Texans rip the bandaid and start CJ week 1 or have a small safety net and have Mills start against the Ravens?

I’m usually of the mindset that you should start a rookie as soon as possible taking into account how they’re performing and how good the other qbs are doing.

But the 1st game is against the Ravens and, although, I do think they should grow through adversity, there is a limit where it goes past a learning experience and becomes demoralizing and could hurt growth.

Am I being a bit paranoid, am I thinking the Ravens defense is better than what they actually are, or something else? Curious to see what y’all think.
