Icing the kicker? Belichickian move?

I posted this question in the post game thread, but never got an answer, but Is it possible that having Thomas jump offsides multiple times was more of a strategic move on Demeco’s part? A way to ice the kicker without TOs? For him to do it twice and not get pulled off the field seems very odd to me.
