IAH rideshare pickup area is an embarrassment

Was waiting 30+ minutes for a pickup. Not a transportation engineer but I work in the civil space. Took me about 5 minutes to remap the rideshare pickup space by terminal C based on common sense. How come they have 4 lanes funnel into 1 lane into 3 into 1 for the exit. They also purposely blocked off lanes to make this happen instead of opening them up. There’s a whole empty parking area next to terminal C rideshare pickup that is about 85% empty every time I’ve been there. Which intern designed the traffic space in this airport and why is it so awful? Lol
