IAH: Can I check my bags in at Terminal C if I’m flying out of Terminal B?

My wife, little kid, and I, are flying out of terminal B this weekend. Because we need a car seat, we’re just going to park at the airport. Due to the construction, you have to enter through C and then make your way to Terminal B on the train. We’ve got a lot of checked bags, and it sure would be nicer to drop them off in C before navigating our way to B. Are you allowed to do that, or can you only check your bags in the terminal from which you’re departing?
