I was wrong. Apologies to Dana Brown.
I consider myself an avid fan, but am admittedly not someone who watches other teams' games frequently. Thus, I foolishly looked only at the stat sheet for Yusei Kikuchi when he was traded for. I said "man, we gave up too much for him, he's not worth 3 prospects!"
We're in win-now mode, and I understand that prospects aren't usually aligned with such plans, but held out hope that Loperfido, Wagner, and Bloss might all be solid players in a few years, which they might be!
That said, Kikuchi has been far more valuable than the 3 of them combined. We condensed all their talent into one pitcher and have probably already gotten our money's worth out of him.
I'm sorry Mr. Brown, you were right to make the trade. You and the scouting department are obviously better at your jobs than I am, so I'll keep going to work and y'all keep stacking this roster with talent so I can (hopefully) keep enjoying October baseball.
What a fun team to cheer for, what an amazing era of Astros baseball.
