I was in a car wreck that was not my fault and the police report completely mischaracterizes the wreck, and my statement in the report is not what I said to the cop. What do I need to do?

Basically the title. The report says I “didn’t know what happened” yet I know I was literally run off the road by a F250 who struck my car and now it’s likely totaled. Do I need to lawyer up? And if so who do you suggest? I’m so livid right now that the officer let the other guy off when he literally admitted to me he did it.
