I think someone tried to steal my phone on White Oak bayou near Thelma Dr.

I was walking west on the white oak bayou trail from downtown to Stude Park. I like to write down ideas in my phone as a walk (without earbuds or headphones) and I constantly look around every few minutes to be aware of my surroundings and at about 7:30-7:45 near Thelma Dr. i look behind myself and no one was near me then two minutes later there was some sketchy looking dude was walking directly behind me about one pace away. No one walks that close to someone. I have no idea how where he came from because I didn't see him anywhere two minutes before and he wasn't a jogger because he had a large backpack. When looked back, his face made the expression like he had be caught. I stopped, put the phone in my pocket and starred him down at him as he passed. He picked up the pace and walked into the woods under the Taylor bridge. He was a white dude, he seemed homeless and looked rough, mid to late 30's, rough looking beard, both arms covered in tats, really tan, large backpack and a dark blue hat. I thought this section of the trails were safe from stuff like this. Stay aware of your surrounding, I wont be writing as a walk anymore. Bummer :/
